With all Alaska schools closed during the 4th quarter, my Pottery students finished up the semester by creating environmental art. Since all of their classwork was now online, I challenged them to take some time away from their computer screen and explore the following subjects in Nature: Water, The Sky, Mountains, and Trees/Branches/Foliage. I asked them to take pictures of what they saw, and create works of art based on their images. They could use any art material they had at home, and make work that was 2D (like a painting or drawing) or 3D (like a sculpture). Here’s what they came up with…enjoy!
